QUEER ARTISTS FLEA MKT

The Queer Artists Flea Market (QAFM) is a radical community-led creative and economic empowerment initiative dedicated to supporting LGBTQ+ artists, entrepreneurs, performers, and cultural practitioners in Kenya. Founded on the belief that creativity can transform lives and communities, QAFM creates safe, inclusive spaces where queer creatives can showcase their work, grow sustainable businesses, access new markets, and build meaningful professional networks.

Who We Are

Building power through community

The Queer Artists Flea Market (QAFM) is a community-led creative and economic empowerment initiative advancing the visibility, wellbeing, and livelihoods of LGBTQ+ artists, entrepreneurs, performers, and cultural practitioners across Kenya.

Founded in 2023, QAFM was created in response to a simple yet urgent need: to build safe, affirming spaces where queer creatives and entrepreneurs can showcase their work, grow sustainable businesses, connect with new audiences, and celebrate their identities without compromise.

Today, QAFM is more than a marketplace. It is a growing ecosystem where creativity, entrepreneurship, culture, and community come together to create lasting economic and social impact.

Every market, cultural event, and artistic programming we host creates opportunities for queer-owned businesses to generate income, artists to share their work, performers to reach new audiences, and community members to build meaningful connections.

Beyond our markets, QAFM continues to grow through initiatives that celebrate excellence, strengthen creative entrepreneurship, and expand opportunities for our community. One such initiative is the Queer Creatives Pamoja Awards — an annual celebration recognising the outstanding achievements, creativity, leadership, and contributions of LGBTQ+ artists, entrepreneurs, storytellers, and changemakers shaping Kenya's creative landscape.
